In 2009, they signed our first contract with Sky, the UK's most successful Pay-TV broadcaster, and l rapidly evolved from a web and mobile digital agency to one which provided mission-critical, enterprise-grade SaaS solutions.

They deliver eSuite, the world's smartest subscription & billing platform, providing enterprises with the freedom to deploy flexible business models that drive recurring revenue streams.

Their mission is to deliver eSuite to identify, acquire and retain the customers of media, entertainment, sports and retail companies worldwide.


  • Their development team is around 60 people strong, divided across 3 locations – Birchwood, Manchester and Bucharest. They adopt agile principles, working in cross-functional feature teams, running daily stand-ups and fortnightly retrospectives.

  • Each feature team consists of between 5-6 people in total; a Principal Engineer or Team Lead, 3-4 Developers, and between 1-2 QA Analysts. The teams also work very closely with Product Owners and Product BAs, all working together to deliver amazing software to clients!

  • The Team Leader is responsible for technical team leadership duties, as well as performing application development duties.

Key Responsibilities:

This role is not limited to, but comprises of the following key responsibilities:

1. Development Work:

  • Code Reviews

  • Design Session (usually leading them and encouraging people to take the time to have them)

  • Merging

  • Assisting team with code/platform issues. (Set Up, broken builds, database issues)

  • Out of Hours

  • Training

2. Technical Lead:

  • Attend principal meetings

  • Team's point of reference for development design questions and best practices

  • Review merge Checklist

  • Raise design concerns with current platform and current epic work (pass team's input on the matter up the chain)

  • Mentor new Starters to use the platform, tools, languages, ways of working and processes.

  • Out of Hours Shadowing for new starters

  • Provide technical support and documentation for new epics to Product Owner and other business stakeholders.

3. Team Lead:

  • Schedule meetings (poker sessions, review of work)

  • Awareness of Critical Path for work (work to rearrange priority if CP changes and ensure high dependency tickets get done 1st)

  • Remind / Enforce the process of Kanban (right to left, comment on stories)

  • Enquire / push to resolve blockers (email POs / Management, raise stories/bugs/defects)

  • Fill in when manager is away (stand up, starting meetings)

  • Explain and answer questions about ways of working/process

  • Tech Forum (Voluntary role)

Experience Required:

  • Good application and technical skills

  • The go to person in the team for technical or application questions

  • A proactive person with a can-do attitude

  • Good time and people management skill
