This role offers a great opportunity to develop your career and take it to the next level. You will be part of a small but growing and effective team of developers whose responsibilities include building new sites, services and products in addition to updating and supporting existing assets.

Some of the responsibilities:

  • Understanding the latest web-based technology trends

  • Commercial experience, including scoping & managing complex projects

  • Experience of successfully managing a team, playing to individual strengths and supporting continuous skills development

  • A problem-solving mindset & the ability to deliver high-quality outputs

  • Outstanding relationship-building & communications skills

  • The ability to see the big picture – understanding their client’s needs and translating these into clearly defined work specifications for their digital and creative teams

  • Strong troubleshooting and investigation skills

  • A passion for testing and QA, ensuring you deliver your best work, the first time.

Some of the requirements:

  • PHP frameworks (Laravel essential)

  • APIs integrations and data migration - implementing 3rd party APIs and creating middleware to consume and manipulate data.

  • MVC principles and approach

  • Unit Testing (PHPUnit)

  • Database architecture and best practices (MySQL and MariaDB are our go-to)

  • Understanding of Redis / Memcache (nice to have)

  • A good understanding of Linux-based hosting environments and experience with NGINX would be beneficial (AWS advantageous)

  • Version control (we use Git/Bitbucket)

  • Agile working (We implement a hybrid Scrumban approach)Best practice development techniques (accessibility, SEO, security, PSR compliance)
