Senior UX Designer/Researcher Ronald James Group 2022-09-17

We are looking for a talented Senior UX Researcher/Designer to join a company within the construction industry who are growing rapidly. At this level we expect you to be able to help define and implement a research and experience design strategy, run different research and testing activities, IA, interface structure, designs etc. In addition, to be an ambassador for UX best practices and its benefits to our colleagues in the wider business.

Essential Skills:
●3+ years of experience working in a Senior UX Product Designer or equivalent role.
●High dexterity in speed and quality with the tools of your trade. Especially Sketch and Axure.
●Extensive knowledge and experience with driving and applying user-centred design processes.
●Accustomed to working collaboratively with users and cross-functional team members including engineering and product management.
●Expert in all areas of user experience design (information architecture, interaction design, visual design, prototype engineering, content, user experience).
●Experience collecting and analysing in qualitative and quantitative data.
●Ability to create, but not limited to the following – experience maps, user journeys and service blueprints, interaction models, flows and wireframes, and rapid prototyping methods, ranging from paper sketching to digital prototypes.
●In-depth knowledge of Agile process and its principles.
●FSharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
●Must have a portfolio of relevant case studies.
●Experience working in an agile development environment.
●Understanding of accessibility and inclusion.
●An understanding of development practices and technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular and their impact on the digital experience would be beneficial.
●A clear understanding of where UX fits within an organisation and what value it can bring.
●Experience working with business Analysts’, Product Owners, Project Managers and Product Directors to capture, review and agree business requirements.
●Attention to detail. Creative and analytical approach.

●Knowledge of industry tools such as Keynote, PowerPoint, Sketch, Adobe, Analytics, and tracking tools (Adobe or Google Analytics, etc.). Visio, Excel, InVision, Zeplin, Abstract, OmniGraffle.
●Business know-how: Understanding of business metrics and the ability to translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences.
●Ability to collaborate with different people/teams.
●Ability to analyse both quantitative and qualitative data.
●Ability to conduct different quantitative and qualitative research activities.
●Solid understanding of user-centred design and interaction design principles and best practices.
●Attention to detail.
●Knowledge of responsive design and the benefits of a mobile-first approach.
●The ability to present design ideas with clarity and passion, and to receive feedback with open-mindedness.
●Experience of the construction industry would be an advantage.
●Experience on high traffic complex systems, apps and website would be an advantage.
●Knowledge of/experience in cognitive science, psychology or information science, with a solid understanding of user experience design would be advantageous.

Your Responsibilities Include:
●You'll ensure that the 'user experience' for individuals using our products are as efficient and pleasurable as possible.
●You'll be involved in the design of digital products and services for specific target groups and end users, you will need to understand their motivations.
●Use research and data to make informed decisions about what is best for the user's experience.
●Plan and conduct competitor analysis.
●Create user stories, personas, and storyboards.
●Determine information architecture and create sitemaps.
●Create prototypes and wireframes.
●Conduct heuristic evaluations.
●Present and communicate insights in order to help shape long-term product strategy.
●Combine UX thinking with design execution, to produce usable and intuitive user interfaces.
●Plan and run user tests and other design research to inform design decisions.
●Collaborate with the rest of the design team to evolve and refine our design system, ensuring visual cohesion and engineering efficiency across all user touchpoints.
●Help build out design processes, tools, and culture.
●Communicate design solutions to engineers and stakeholders.
●You will work very closely with the associated Product Owner and Product Directors, where appropriate, to ensure the product releases (made up of a series of product sprints) align with the product strategy, roadmap and the main ‘themes’ and high-level release definitions of the roadmap.
●Work closely with Product Owner, where relevant, to create, prioritise and maintain a product backlog, prioritised according to business value or ROI.
●Translate business needs, user needs and technology constraints into solution concepts that are meaningful, easy to use, and engaging.
●Facilitate workshops to answer critical business questions through design thinking, rapid prototyping, and testing ideas with customers.
●Utilize quantitative and qualitative research to generate meaningful insights that will drive creative concepts
●Design journey maps, navigation design, sitemaps, information architecture, wireframes, storyboards and prototypes.
●Define reporting and measurement metrics focused on project and usability goals.
●Frame and tell the story of design solutions. Present the communication of research findings, conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
