Role

This role supports the following strategic goals:

  • Protecting the integrity of the data held by the company

  • Maintaining compliance with all laws, regulations and standards which affect the data they collect and retain

  • Enabling clients to gain rich business insight from the data they hold

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Integrity: Support and enhance the import of client data into the ecosystem

  • Data Accessibility: Support and enhance the reporting and analytics capability

  • Legality: Follow a privacy by design approach to all data related change. Support and enhance the data security model and management of data retention policies. Work with the product team to ensure readiness for changes to legislation and regulation.

  • Across all of the above, you will be involved in the day to day operation, support and continuous improvement of all externally sourced tooling, in-house developed software and end-to-end processes used to manage data

Experience Required:

  • 3+ years of SQL Server development experience, relational design, normalization, queries, & stored procedures

  • SQL Server & T-SQL

  • SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)

  • Data Importing, data archiving and advanced reporting

  • Design and implementing database solutions within architectural, security and code quality guidelines

  • Ensures expected functionality is adequately verified by automated unit and/or functional tests

  • Prototypes, guidance and other artifacts on appropriate component usage to internal consumers (typically other developers).\

  • Plans, participates in and directs refactoring efforts for database objects, queries, scripts

Preferred Experience:

  • Diagnosing and resolving performance problems and opportunities

  • Optimizing data storage

  • Designing relational schemas

  • Implementing data security

  • Experience in C# or VB.NET

  • Clustering and parallelizing SQL Server environments

  • Cloud based data tools, such as Microsoft Azure Integration Services, Azure Data Warehouse and Azure Data Factory

  • Designing data warehouse or data mart schemas & strategies

  • Document oriented or NoSQL databases

  • Network principles, protocol - TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, proxy, firewall, etc.

  • XML, XML Schema, JSON
