Laravel Developer Ronald James Group 2026-04-06

This company is looking for a Senior PHP Full Stack Developer to join its development team and contribute to the evolution of a Laravel-based platform.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, improving system architecture, and working across both backend and frontend layers of a modern, containerised application.

You will work within a small, focused office-based team, taking ownership of core service logic, background processing, and third-party integrations. The position offers a high level of ownership and the opportunity to influence technical direction.

Please note - This is a fully office based role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend services that are scalable, testable, and maintainable within a modern Laravel environment

  • Take ownership of service-layer logic, addressing existing gaps and implementing clean, modular solutions to support integrations and business operations

  • Collaborate with the team to improve queue job handling, reliability, traceability, and error management across asynchronous processes

  • Work closely with DevOps and QA to support CI/CD pipelines and ensure automated testing and deployments meet quality standards

  • Maintain and optimise local development and Docker-based environments, including queue workers and supporting services

  • Proactively identify and resolve technical debt, contributing to platform stability and production readiness

  • Support system integrations with third-party services and internal APIs

  • Contribute to code quality through peer reviews, consistent development patterns, and knowledge sharing

  • Assist with improvements to frontend tooling and workflows, contributing to UI components built with Livewire, TailwindCSS, and Vite

  • Stay up to date with developments across the Laravel ecosystem and contribute to ongoing technical improvements

Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial experience with PHP (8.0+) and Laravel (10+), building robust and maintainable applications

  • Comfortable working across the full stack, including Blade, Livewire, and modern frontend tooling such as Vite, TailwindCSS, and Node

  • Solid understanding of database design and optimisation, ideally with MySQL, and experience using Redis for caching and queues

  • Experience working in containerised environments such as Docker and docker-compose

  • Hands-on experience with background job processing and queue-based workflows

  • Familiarity with Git-based workflows, pull requests, and peer code reviews

  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams

  • Pragmatic approach to testing and quality assurance, ideally with exposure to PHPUnit and CI practices

  • Ability to work independently on larger tasks while contributing to overall technical direction.

Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity - apply today!
