This is an exciting opportunity to join an established organisation within the e-commerce industry. They are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in delivering high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence and supporting the continued evolution of their technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Multi-Project Delivery: Work across several concurrent workstreams, spanning feature development, platform improvements and infrastructure initiatives, balancing competing priorities while maintaining code quality and delivery pace.

• Engineering Best Practices: Champion and help embed engineering best practices, including code review standards, testing, CI/CD and documentation across the team, acting as a role model for the standard of work expected from senior engineers.

• Process & Ways-of-Working Adoption: Support the roll-out and adoption of new tools, processes and ways of working as the engineering function matures, helping teammates understand the reasoning behind changes and troubleshooting adoption challenges.

• Mentoring & Technical Guidance:Mentor less experienced engineers through pairing, code reviews and informal guidance, helping build technical capability and confidence across the team.

Key Skills

● Experience with PHP frameworks (Symfony/Laravel) and modern JavaScript frameworks is desirable, although strong engineers from other languages and frameworks (e.g. Rails, Go, Django, .NET, React or Angular) with solid software engineering fundamentals are encouraged to apply.
● Comfortable working across front-end and back-end technologies as part of full-stack development.
● Solid working knowledge of AWS and cloud-based infrastructure.
● Background in DevOps, platform or infrastructure engineering.
● Comfortable managing multiple projects and changing priorities.
● Confident communicator with the ability to work autonomously and influence stakeholders.
● Experience mentoring or supporting the development of other engineers.
● Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools is advantageous.
● Pragmatic approach to balancing delivery speed, technical debt and long-term maintainability.
● Ability to manage conflict effectively and provide constructive feedback at all levels.
