We are looking for a Front-End Software Engineer to join a digital agency and become part of their Platform Engineering team. As the Front-End Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in bringing UX designs to life in a performant and reusable manner.

Requirements - what you’ll be doing:
● Collaborate as part of a fluid Agile team structure where cross-functional squads are formed based on product roadmaps
● Produce modular layouts, reusable code and libraries for future use as part of wide-ranging projects and new user-facing features
● Deliver performant applications and features, specifically in regards to Core Web Vitals metrics
● Write accessible and cross-browser compatible HTML, CSS and JavaScript to reach as wide an audience as possible
● Work with Quality Automation Engineers and Manual Testers in order to ensure your code is as robust as possible
● Define product requirements alongside Product Managers
● Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs
● Support the optimisation of user experience in conjunction with UX Designers
● Contribute to technical standards and best practices for the front-end function of the Engineering team
● Exhibit and celebrate the team’s achievements to fellow Engineers and other stakeholders during sprint demos
What we’d love to see:
● Excellent HTML & CSS knowledge
● Thorough JavaScript expertise
● Experience with JS Frameworks (e.g. VueJS/Angular.js/React)
● Experience consuming REST web services/APIs
● Code versioning (e.g. GitHub)
● Knowledge of current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance optimisation (specifically Core Web Vitals metrics), accessibility, and usability
● Understanding of core SEO principles
● Ability to explain complex projects, requirements and issues in clear, non-technical terms
● Take initiative with tasks, addressing requirements in order to bring them to completion
Desirable:
● VueJS
● Angular.js
● Web Components
● Tailwind CSS
● PHP/Laravel
● Exposure to Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines and working patterns
● Previous experience in working in Agile teams
● An interest in widening skills into other areas (e.g. QA, back-end development, UX)
